LGBTI+ Services
While there is no official figure of LGBTI+ people in Ireland, we reached this figure based on a 2007 estimate by the Gay & Lesbian Equality network that stated 5-7% of the population self-identify as LGBTI+.
Taking an average estimate figure of 6% and applying it to census data from Cork & Kerry, we estimated that approximately 41,435 people self-identify as LGBT+ in Cork & Kerry.
According to the LGBT Ireland Report (2016), 12 years old is the most common age for us to discover our LGBTI+ identity.
